It is precision injection molded for superior strength and dependability. This particular model, Exotuf Plus E500, has a 500-millimeter inner diameter and a valve size of 50 millimeters. This is the Bead Filter version that utilizes biological filtration which is the most effective method of removing toxins (ammonia) and breaking it down into nitrites which provide food to your aquatic plants (referred to as the Nitrogen Cycle). This is accomplished by using naturally occurring bacteria and giving it a place to live in the Biofilter media where it is exposed to large quantities of food and oxygen. It also has a clamp multiport valve that is designed with an ergonomic handle and quick connect barrel unions. A clear sight glass for backwash inspection and pressure gauge to determine the filter’s capacity are other features of the multiport valve. The multiport valve clamp provides a 360-degree orientation of the multiport valve for simple installation and service.
