Hayward CC15093S XStream Full-Flo 150sqft w/ 1.5 HP Power-Flo Matrix Pool Pump. I put it in the back of my truck, covered it with a tarp, and just now uncovered and opened it up to get it off my truck so I can use the truck again. The tarp leaked some water onto the box, and some got into the box. The motor on the pump had/has some white colored stuff on the galvanized ring, caused by water. I don’t know if it was from the leaked water or from the pump being used. I think it was from the leaked water as the box the pump was inside was wet on the bottom end when I opened the bigger box as the bigger box wasn’t fully elevated by pieces of wood I had underneath it it, and the end of the smaller box that the pump was in had the motor on that side (along the bottom basically). I plugged the pump in and turned it on and it hummed. I quickly turned it off and then back on again and it hummed again. I did this maybe 2 more times, and then the motor didn’t make any sound. I should have let it dry out before trying it. The filter housing and filter look unused, the accessory pack is still sealed, and the hoses don’t show any sign of use (which, not many signs of use would show on the hoses if they were used). According to what I read online, all the parts that come with these kits is here. How A Sand Filter WorksSand is the oldest and most popular method of filtration. Sand filters share two things in common, when in the filtration mode, water always flows from the top to the bottom and they all have some sort of lateral or underdrain with slots to hold back sand while allowing clean, filtered water to pass through. Highrate sand filters use a special filter sand, normally. 55mm (also known as pool grade #20 silica sand), because it has sharp edges that separate particles, allowing filtration to take place. They operate on the basis of “depth” filtration where dirt is driven through the sand bed and trapped in the spaces between the sand particles. Initially, a clean sand bed removes larger particles, and then, as the bed starts to load up with debris, the filter removes finer particles.
