When: When the pressure guage on your filter tank reaches 8 p. If stubborn stains persist, soak the cartridge overnight in a solution of one quart household bleach to five gallons of water. Rinse the cartridge thoroughly with clean fresh water and return it to the filter tank. Securely tighten the tank lid and any band clamps completely and restart your filtration system per manufacturers instructions. How To Measure The Filter Cartridge. Measure the outside diameter of the cartridge. Measure the overall length of the cartridge including the end caps. Do not include any handles, strings, etc. A more accurate measurement is made by measuring through the center of the cartridge when possible. If the top and/or bottom is open, measure the inside diameter of the opening. Match the cartridge end cap configuration to a corresponding one in the complete end cap gallery. Take note whether or not there is a center core in center. Also count the number of pleats.
