The water chemistry of the pool. Whether the pool is inside a screened in area. The number of swimmers, suntan lotion, pets in the pool, etc. The outlying area around the pool if treated for insecticides, fertilizers, etc. The chemicals used to treat the pool; chemicals used to remove phosphates break down the filter media.
